What are the main causes/medication/prevention of mouth sores?

Posted by admin on March 7th, 2010 and filed under mouth sores | 4 Comments »

I have some mouth sores on th upper part of my mouth, I have taken mouth paint (clozole) but I still cant take anything. its too painful. plz advice

Canker sores are a little mysterious. I use pain medicine like Advil, and then brush my teeth after eating and rinse with Listerine. This really helps, but mostly you have to grin and bear it.

Does melatonin or amaxacilin cause mouth sores?

Posted by admin on March 5th, 2010 and filed under mouth sores | 3 Comments »

I started it last tuesday and now i have lots of open sores in my mouth. im also on amoxacilin.

Aphthous ulcers ("canker sores") are common and the etiology is unknown, probably minor trauma. Often, they respond well to extra B12 vitamin, folate and vitamin C. The B12 is taken by dissolving the tablet under the tongue, not swallowing whole.

Here is some info of the herbs.
***Please this is just some information i am not a doctor so if you are planning on taking or using any of these please research or ask a doctor before hand.Pregnant women as well.*****

Rosehips***
is a fleshy red hip that is rich in Vitamin C and carotenoids and can be used for the prevention and treatment of vitamin C and A deficiency and scurvy.

Sage***
Sage is also an active ingredient in some natural mouthwashes because its tannins are thought to help kill the bacteria that cause gingivitis. Sage has traditionally been used to treat canker sores, bleeding gums, sore throat, tonsillitis, and laryngitis.

Rosemary***
Modern-day herbalists use rosemary to assist with illness related to the gall bladder and the liver. Rosemary is also used as an antiseptic for treating flu, viruses and colds, and is touted as being able to help lower blood sugar and raise blood pressure. Many people gargle rosemary tea to help heal mouth ulcers and canker sores, and as a mouth wash for halitosis.

Ginseng***
Many studies have shown that ginseng can boost mood, improve memory, increase concentration and physical endurance, ease anxiety, and even improve test scores. Ginsengs ability to improve mental function seems to increase when this herb is given in combination with ginkgo.

Ginseng is thought to be an adaptogen, meaning that it adapts itself as necessary to treat imbalances in the body. It has been shown to help balance blood pressure, blood sugar, triglyceride and cholesterol levels, and hormones in both men and women.

Ginseng is also an immune system booster and natural detoxifier. It helps keep the liver, adrenal glands, and thyroid healthy, may help prevent illnesses ranging from the common cold .

Kelp***
The primary known constituents of Kelp include algin, carrageenan, iodine, potassium, bormine, mucopolysaccharides, mannitol, alginic acid, kainic acid, laminine, histamine, zeaxanthin, protein, and Vitamins B-2 & C.

Can you get mouth sores with strep throat?

Posted by admin on March 1st, 2010 and filed under mouth sores | 2 Comments »

Recently, my sister was diagnosed with strep throat. She had a fever, headache, sore throat, vomiting – everything. The doctor gave her amoxicillin. She has now developed sores on the roof of her mouth and she is in A LOT of pain. Can you get mouth sores from strep throat, or is it caused by the medicine or something totally different?

Amoxicillin, like any medication, has possible adverse reactions. A less common one is stomatitis (mouth ulcers). Suggest to her that she report this to her prescriber. Stomatitis is treatable.

what could be the disease associated with stomatitis (mouth sores) ?

How can I get rid of mouth sores?

Posted by admin on February 25th, 2010 and filed under mouth sores | 4 Comments »

I get canker sores(mouth sores) all the time. Its extremely annoying and painful when I eat. How can I easily get rid of them and how can i prevent from getting them?

This might sound weird, but some people have body chemistry that favors these sorts of things. I tend to get cysts on my face, or on my earlobes. They’re the size of a pimple, but painful. The thing that helps is to keep your immune system strong. I eat red grapes, strawberries, bananas, and take vitamins daily. If you eat a good full meal, you should take your vitamins with that meal. Zinc is the best supplement for immune health, and it actually speeds healing. It can make you nauseated if you take in on an empty stomach, so be sure to eat heavy before taking it. You can take it twice a day when you have mouth sores, and it will make a difference.
