i’ve been getting mouth sores alot now, its a little white circle in my mouth that really hurts and stings and its hard for me to eat because it hurts so much. i brush my teeth every morning so i dont know why i always get it one after another… i use Orajel mouth sore, but all it does is numb it for like 5-10 mins. why do i keep getting these mouth sores again & again & again?! this is probably the 5th mouth sore in 3 months.
could be food allergy. keep track of what you eat. if not that, it’s probably a virus. eventually, your immune system will reduce the frequency. check with a doctor any case.
why do i always get mouth sores?

What can you gargle that helps mouth sores?
Am taking care of a woman who has become really, really thin, and is awfully ill , too, and she says they give her more pain than her bones do. She said they gave her something in the hospital that helped, but she doesn’t remember what- and apparently neither does her doctor. (It would be OK if it were prescription, or not.)
try using a solution of warm water and salt this is an old remedy that works very well….
Good luck
What is the best way to prevent mouth ulcers/canker sores?
I get ulcers aka canker sores in my mouth all the time. I get one, it goes away, then the next day another comes up. My doctor gave me apthasol with makes them go away, but do any of you know of a medicine that will prevent them? Or atleast do better than apthasol?
You usually cannot prevent them. They are brought on by a virus in your body. Sometimes you can get them when you have been or will be sick, as your immune system is not in full force. Other than that, keep your fingers out of your mouth and rinse with warm salt water 2-3x a day.

What is the fastest and most effective way to rid canquer (sp?) sores/mouth sores?
I know that eating a lot of sugar makes you get them (I found out the hard way!) and its not the bumps on the tongue but the wholes on the inside of your cheek.
So far salt with warm water is not working quite well, any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Lemon juice and baking soda. It’ll burn like hell, but it’s always helped me.
Or else, just gargle with warm water and baking soda.

What Is Behçet’s Disease?
The disease was first described in 1937 by Dr. Helusi Behçet, a professor of dermatology in Istanbul. Behçet’s disease is now recognized as a chronic condition that causes sores or ulcers in the mouth and on the genitals, and inflammation in parts of the eye. In some people, the disease also results in arthritis (swollen, painful, stiff joints) and inflammation of the digestive tract, brain, and spinal cord.
Mouth sores—Mouth sores (known as oral aphthosis and aphthous stomatitis) affect almost all patients with Behçet’s disease. They are often the first symptom that a person notices and may occur long before any other symptoms appear. The sores usually have a red border and several may appear at the same time. They can be painful and make eating difficult. Mouth sores go away in 10 to 14 days but often come back. Small sores usually heal without scarring, but larger ones may scar.
What Kind of Doctor Treats a Patient With Behçet’s Disease?
Because the disease affects different parts of the body, a patient will probably see several different doctors. It may be helpful to both the doctors and the patient for one doctor to manage the complete treatment plan. This doctor can coordinate treatment and monitor any side effects from the various medications the patient takes.
A rheumatologist (a doctor specializing in arthritis) often manages the patient’s overall treatment and treats joint disease. The following specialists treat other symptoms that affect different body systems:
*** Urologist—treats genital sores in men. ***
Topical Medicine
Topical medicine is applied directly on the sores to relieve pain and discomfort. For example, doctors prescribe rinses to treat mouth sores. Creams are used to treat skin and genital sores. The medicine usually contains corticosteroids, which reduce inflammation, or an anesthetic, which relieves pain.
Oral Medicine
Doctors also prescribe medicines taken by mouth to reduce inflammation throughout the body, suppress the overactive immune system, and relieve symptoms. Doctors may prescribe one or more of the medicines described below to treat the various symptoms of Behçet’s disease.
