Clove oil was the standard toothache remedy. It has anesthetic properties of some effectiveness as well as disinfectant properties.
Cloves numb it

my son's dentist precribed a solution of benadry and viscous lidocaine to swish and spit. It really helped the pain.

If they're just dark colour, not looking different from his mouth membrane otherwise, they are probably just part of his colouring. It's like having some pink and some black paw-pads. I've had cats with pink-and-black coloured mouths. But if you are concerned, ask your vet about it.

both of my cats have that. they are perfectly healthy and were born with it.
just like some cats have different colored noses and paw pads.
i wouldnt worry.

Usually the pain goes away in about 5 days but until then take pain-relievers like Advil.

It could be blisters :/

But you didn’t mention that it hurt you… If it doesn’t hurt, then it shouldn’t really be that serious.
My advice is that you should go to your dentist, they’ll obviously know!

Those can come from a wide variety of causes, ranging from accidentally biting the inside of your cheek, to cellulitis (inflammation of the skin that fills with liquid), to dental problems (such as an abscess), to early stage syphilis (that causes painless fluid filled blisters inside the mouth), to other, more exotic disorders. If one has these and they persist, a doctor could easily take a tissue sample to determine what exactly it is. What is troublesome to me is that you mention "painless" – most mouth sores or blisters or chancre sores have some pain attached to them. The link below is probably the most comprehensive one available, and probably one that will scare you the most. Best advice is don’t guess, have a doctor check it out.
