About a week ago, I had 4 wisdom teeth and one sideways second molar on the lower left surgically removed. Now, on the left side it hurts a lot to open my mouth any wider than about 1-2 inches. While i may be wrong, it feels that the pain comes from my jaw joint instead of the muscles around it. However, the right side does not hurt. Also, i’m still a bit swollen on the left side and my inner cheek is sore near the removed teeth. Is this normal? Please help!
Yes, this is normal.Its been about 2 and a half weeks since I got mine out and my jaw still hurts when I open it too wide. Also mine pops outta place kind of if I open too wide too.It is fromt hem opening your mouth so wide when they did ur surgery.Everyone has this pain at one time or another.I was swollen for a good week or so after mine was done. One of your teeth on one sides was probably more impacted than the other side.Thats how mine was..my right side was way worse and your was worse on the left side so that is probably why it is hurting worse. Mine is still not healing properly yet from the trama of the tooth coming out. My cheeks are still hurting too. Its all normal my Rx said.

I looked like a chipmunk for over 2 weeks after having all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled out (blue knotty bruises on both cheeks). It hurt too much to talk the entire time too. My jaw hurt also. I know a couple of people who were fine and working the next day, and then I know other people who were very sore for a long time too. One of those that were fine only had two pulled out. It was the worst pain I felt in my entire life, worse than childbirth. Don’t know if it is normal or not, but I went through it too. Good luck.
