Is it normal for my mouth to taste milky after starting this medicine?

I just started taking Metronidazole tablets yesterday and this morning my mouth began tasting milky. It’s like after you drink warm milk and the taste doesn’t leave your mouth.

Is this normal?

Taste disturbances like the one you describe are common with people taking metronidazole. Some people describe the taste as metallic, but others describe sharp or unpleasant tastes in their mouths. It is perfectly normal and should go away when you finish your course of treatment.
