Got my lip pierced on the left side 4 days ago. Seems to be healing ok. But since i got it done there has been a white coating on my tongue and i’ve had a bad sour taste in my mouth. Also, the white stuff coming out of the inside of my lip tastes bad. was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. please let me know if this is normal. thanks

Definition: Thrush is a yeast infection in the mouth caused by a fungus named Candida Albicans which grows out of control and causes painful lesions usually on the inner cheeks and tongue, but can also spread to the roof of your mouth, gums, tonsils and throat. You need to see a physician A.S.A.P. Diagnosis can usually be made from a look at the affected area, but can be confirmed by a swab taken by the nurse or doctor, which is examined at the laboratory. Oral medication in the form of pills is usually prescribed.

Its probably puss, if you have an infection. Does it taste kinda metallic?

The bad taste and the white stuff is the puss from the infection from your piercing. The white coating on your tongue is halitosis which is a by-product of bacteria in the mouth usually due to poor mouth hygiene. Get rid of the infection first and scape or brush your tongue to get rid halitosis.
Please note the human mouth is a very dirty place and when piercing are done especially in the tongue, a special wash is recommended and can be obtained to prevent infections from happening.
