How do I get rid of this white cold sore/pimple thing on my mouth?

Posted by admin on April 7th, 2010 and filed under white mouth | 3 Comments »

I woke up with it and I think it got worse though the day, it’s a pimple or something that is on my upper edge of my mouth and it’s white and grosss!! How can I get rid of it by tomorrow I have to talk alot!! Please help!

If this white spot is located right at the lip line, and outside of the mouth, it’s quite possible it is a garden variety pimple/whitehead. In that case, applying moist heat with a clean washcloth should help encourage it to drain itself. You want the cloth as hot as you can stand it, and hold it on until it cools. Repeat that as often as you can. It will tend to make it redder and larger at first, until it is able to drain itself. When it begins to drain, you can gently press along the sides downwards, and encourage it to drain completely. At that point, the swelling and puffiness, and soreness should lessen a good bit. It will also heal faster if the body does the draining than it will if you pick, poke or prod. On the other hand, if this is at the corner of the mouth, then it may be a cold sore. In that case, you can use over the counter remedies for cold sores to help it heal but it’s not going to happen overnight. I suggest you try the moist heat first, if you can’t decide.

Well if it’s a cold sore try Novitra. It won’t get rid of it by tomorrow, but it helps.
